Enhance your stove’s efficiency and save on fuel with the Recoheat Airflow Heat Recovery System, designed for wood burners and solid fuel stoves. Engineered to fit stove flues with a spigot end, this innovative system significantly boosts heat output and extends heat delivery time, all while reducing fuel consumption. If your stove pipe lacks a spigot, opt for the wide-topped version for easy retrofitting.
Key Features:
- Energy Efficiency: Powered by a super-silent aquarium pump consuming just 37 watts (equivalent to a light bulb), it delivers an impressive airflow rate of 3600 litres per hour (60l/m).
- Comprehensive Kit: Includes 1 metre of heat-resistant black silicone tube, 3 metres of standard tubing, and essential connectors for hassle-free installation.
- Durable Construction: Made from flue-grade steel, it resists heat and corrosion, minimises soot build-up, and conforms to BS EN-1856-2-2009 British and European Standards.
The Recoheat system ensures your home stays warmer for longer, helping you make the most of your stove while keeping running costs low.
Additional Benefits:
- Comes with a 5-year warranty, ensuring peace of mind and long-term reliability.
- Professional installation is available in the North East of England for a seamless setup experience.
Please Note: Double-check your flue size to ensure compatibility. For flues without a spigot, purchase the wide-topped version.
Upgrade your heating system today with the Recoheat Airflow Heat Recovery System and enjoy enhanced warmth and efficiency all year round!
HOW IT WORKS
The diagram above illustrates how the Recoheat captures lost heat from your solid fuel stove.
1 – Light a good fire in the stove
2 – Heat rises through the flue to be wasted with the exhaust fumes
3 – Air pumps into the sealed Recoheat unit at the bottom of the flue, where it is rapidly heated to about 500 °C
4 – The hot air expands, so shoots out of the unit much faster than it is pumped in
5 – The heat and increased air pressure creates a current of warm air in the room, filling it with warmth
6 – Open the door and warm air flows out into the rest of the house
We make ambitious claims for our eco-friendly multi fuel stove accessory: use half the fuel for twice the heat output.
But it’s not actually difficult to understand how the system achieves these remarkable efficiencies. Imagine the area your central heating boiler would warm up if it wasn’t connected to a pump that circulated water over the flames and around the house: it wouldn’t heat the corner of the room it sat in. Yet, as part of a pumped system, it heats the whole house. If you look at our TrustPilot reviews, you’ll see it has transformed many people’s heating.
It captures heat from the hottest part of the stove
Our system uses the heat from your stove in the same way – it circulates air through the hottest part of the stove – just inside the chimney – and pumps it into the room.
It exploits the turbulent barrier layer phenomenon
Turbulent air transfers heat much faster than calm air because heat transfers when molecules collide, so if they’re all colliding instead of flowing in straight lines, the heat exchange rises at an exponential rate. That’s how we achieve the astonishingly fast heat exchange rate. Just don’t tell anyone.
It’s a sealed unit – so no fumes
Because the air circulates in a sealed system inside the flue, it’s not affected by the smoke, and it doesn’t affect the flow of air in the chimney itself.
It’s transferring direct heat through air
Because the heat is generated by the fire itself, not by radiation from the stove, it’s instant – hot air starts pumping within seconds of lighting your fire, and continues pumping for hours after the stove has cooled.
It pumps the air
And because the air is pumped into the room it circulates by its own volition – it’s not using convection or radiation to spread warmth into the room.
It’ll create a current around your house
In fact the heat that is released does very quickly create a convection current, and you’ll observe that current literally spreading around your house – it’s observable – and measurable – when cool air comes through the bottom of the open doorway while warm air goes out the top.
It keeps pumping warm air for hours
Check out the video at the top of the page to see how hot the air is when it’s pumped from the system (about 500°C) and how long (six or seven HOURS) the Recoheat pumps warm air after the stove has cooled.
It works with all stoves – new or old
Recoheat really is a revolution in high efficiency wood burning and multifuel stoves, because it offers such high efficiency and works with all stoves, new and old. It also works on rear mounted flus with the use of a T section on the collar, as well as top-mounted flues
